Kutná Hora and Kostnica are the ancient city and human bones
The Czech Republic is a small, unremarkable town of Kutná Hora. Like any other small town, there is a town hall, a church and some kind of square.
Probably, it would have remained known only to the locals if it had not been for the plague epidemic in the XIV century, which claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people, and even after 5 centuries - some woodcarver would not "tidy up" their remains.
These skulls and bones adorned ... the church. Since then, Kutná Hora has become a favorite destination for tourists who are attracted to the gloomy and mysterious.

The bone church in the Czech Republic is history
Sometime in the second half of the 13th century, King of the Czech Republic Otakar II sent one abbot to Palestine.
From the overseas business trip, the abbot of the church brought some land and scattered it to the cemetery of the local abbey. It should be noted that the land was not easy. The priest took it at Calvary - it was there, according to the New Testament, that they crucified Jesus Christ.
Since then, the land in Kutná Hora has been considered sacred. It was rumored that the body here began to decompose only on the third day after burial.
Soon, the glory of the Holy Land in the center of Europe spread to other countries. Many famous people from other countries wanted to be buried in the cemetery in Kutná Hora.
In the fourteenth century, a plague spread in Bohemia. Of course, thousands of relatives carried their dead to the place where a part of the Holy Land was preserved.
Also medieval wars and epidemics contributed to the growing cemetery growing and growing.
In 1400, a Gothic cathedral was built at the cemetery with a tomb. The latter served as a pantry for bones that were pulled from the graves.
Who is the hero who was the first to arrange the bone buildup is unknown, but they say it was some half-blind monk. He disassembled the bones and skulls and built 6 pyramids.

When, for 400 years, the emperor ordered the cathedral to be closed, the Schwarzenberg family expressed a desire to buy the church with all the land around it.
That's where it all began. Obviously, the family was characterized by a great but very strange love for the beautiful.
Because there was nowhere to sell the land, the Schwarzenbergs simply hired an "interior designer" to somehow modify the area.
Woodworker Frantisek Rint has approached the task quite creatively, and as a result we have the opportunity to contemplate the unique creation of art.
It should be noted that it is somewhat questionable from a moral point of view, but from an artistic point of view it is very original and colorful.
A bone church in the Czech Republic - hiding inside
Outside, the church in Kutna Hora is no different. We can see a rather gloomy building with slabs around and stone monuments on the graves.
But as you know, looks are often deceptive, so everything changes in the eyes and feelings when you go inside.
The results of the master's work on wood are fascinating. In each corner of the building are large pyramids with bones.
In the middle hangs a huge beautiful chandelier. It consists of at least one copy of each of the human bones.
The chandelier in the cathedral is a separate element of decoration that deserves a passionate ah. It is through it that hundreds of tourists are so eager to get inside Kostnitsa. If you look closely, it is noticeable how the chandelier is attached to the ceiling with jaws.
Enchanted by the Schwarzenberg family emblem, one can even forget for a moment that it is made of thousands of human bones. Small details, perfectly and symmetrically laid bones cause both horror and delight at the same time.
Still, just imagine, the bones of more than 40,000 people fill the church.
