Spain is a unique geographic area. In the same Spanish morning on the Costa del Sol, boys, pupils, burning up, can play football in some T-shirts, and at the other end of the country their peers will sculpt a snowball in the courtyard of his house - all night there was snow, roads sunken, and the school bus was not able to get to the village. Here in such a corner we invite you. In winter it is cold, and in the summer it is hot, but fresh. It's about more than a thousand meters above sea level.

THE LAND LOSSED

"Corner" this, however, is quite large. It is called Sierra Albarracín (Sierra Albarracín), located in the province of Teruel and often called the country in the country. Why? Because this land is distinguished by its beauty from the rest of the landscape. The hills and gentle stone walls seem infinite. And also because that's what the story itself tells us. When Christians displaced Muslims from these territories, the ruler was a very determined young man, Pedro Ruess de Asagra. Senior Asagra did not hesitate to break all kinds of contacts with the Kingdom of Aragon and Castilla. For several decades, Albarracina was ruled by descendants of a courageous, enthusiastic feudal lord who did not recognize any authorities except themselves.
Medieval Castile-Aragonese rulers is quite understandable. This is now in the village of Albarracina is ideally spotted and asphalted, though the road is hooked. In the days of Asagra, the settlement was lost among the hills - try to get to the rebels! In addition, the fortress that reached the family of Asagra, inherited from Muslims, could break the road to anyone who would want to encroach on the treasured possessions.

The tower wall is a symbolic crown of Albarracin. The structure, which was not exposed to winds or tourists, some of which will take, and tear off a piece of antiquity to the memory. However, not everyone goes up to the wall. On the trail that rises down the hill, it's difficult to climb on your heels or with a baby stroller. Not everyone dares to do this mini-climb in a hot summer day or in a piercing winter wind. But if we still get there ... It seems to us that the entire village can be assembled in a handful of hands, and the view will be lost among endless hills.
The village of Albarrasin can be called, referring only to its geographical remoteness. A rare village can be so famous. To call Albarracina a town? It is also problematic. There is no urban life here. Neither supermarkets nor wide streets. Albarrasina is a monument. Such a definition is not a joke, but a reality. Since 1962, the settlement is officially considered the National Monument.

This "monument" has just over a thousand inhabitants. Some of them come to their homes only on week-end to inspire Sierra air. "Aborigines" - albarazinskie grandparents - day after day sit on the main square and look at tourists. The balance of the population is involved in the service of numerous guests.

Guests go for the sights. They overcame the winding kilometer leading to the village from the main road, and the Guadalajara River serves them as a road that kills a serpent, a guide. Guadalajara - mountain, student - lost in the thickets poplar. In her swift water, fish are hiding - it's trout. Albarracin trout can already be seen on a plate (it will be served at any of their local restaurants), but you can also enjoy its lively hustle and bustle. For this purpose, one should go to one of the albarazinskih bars, "Koshkina Mlyn" (Molino del Gato), and sit there with a glass of something refreshing on the terrace, it is - a bridge. In the shady floodplain a whole family of trout, silvery inhabitants of Guadalajara lives. Part of the floor inside the bar - from thick glass over the same floodplain. Therefore, when the client goes to the rack next to the next glass, the fish look at him from the bottom up with round eyes.
Why are the tourists coming here? Some are probably dawning. Best view of Albarracina - from the Hotel Casa de Santiago (room from 50 euros). When going to bed, one has to think that in that same room a couple of hundred years ago, sleeping, resting in the armored lieutenant belonging to the Knight's Order.
