Luxurious palaces of Warsaw. Part 1

Luxurious palaces of Warsaw. Part 1

We have repeatedly written about the diversity of Polish towns and about Warsaw in particular. This time we will try the late capital of Poland with the help of architectural heritage with a bright history, namely with the help of palaces.

Wilanów Palace. Located near the city center, just 10 km from it. Thanks to this location, the palace has survived to this day in its original form. In the past, the palace was a royal residence. Baroque style was used for its design. Over the years, new premises were added to the territory where the palace was located, a garden was planted and a museum was created thanks to Stanislav Potocki. By the way, the palace is a member of the Association of European Royal Residences on a par with Versailles.

Krasinski Palace. Located in Krasinski Park. In his performance, the Baroque style is clearly traced. The palace was built for six years. Its facade is decorated with relief sculptural compositions made by well-known European masters at the time. The interior corresponds to the majesty of the exterior and is decorated with paintings by artists such as Rubens, Rebrant, Correggio and others. Today, the palace is a landmark of Warsaw and part of the National Library.

Stashica Palace. It is the property of the 1920s, and was built only three years by order of Stanislaw Stasice. The Florentine architect Antonio Corazza worked on the project of creating the palace. At the moment the palace houses the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Ostroh Palace. Located in the heart of the city, which is very convenient for tourists. Architect Tillman Gameren worked on its creation. The building changed several owners, and the original idea of the first owner of the estate - Janusz Ostrozky, was not fully reproduced in reality. However, the building has a long and interesting history, which you can hear from the stories of the guide, being on site. Unfortunately, during the Second World War, the palace was severely damaged and underwent restoration work. Currently, the palace houses the Chopin Music Society.
