St. Alžbeta House, Cathedral (PHOTO) is the historical heart of Kosice.
It is a Gothic building that embodies and conveys the medieval spirit of the city. Its construction began at the end of the fourteenth century and ended in 1508

The historical center of Kosice is an endless chain of architectural monuments, centered on one of Slovakia's largest monuments. The central street of the city is completely pedestrianized and is one of the most beautiful streets of Slovakia with many mini-lanes.
From the side of the train station, at the beginning of the square, you will see the remains of the walls of a medieval city. Entering the dungeons, you will be greeted by the Lower Tower foundation, which is now used as an art gallery or concert hall.
The symbol of the city is a marathon sculpture located on the square. It is dedicated to the oldest International Marathon of Peace held in Kosice since 1924.
Stay: 1-2 hours you can leisurely and quietly go around and admire the entire historic center of the city, enjoy a glass of delicious coffee or a glass of craft beer on one of the terraces.
The fountain is located within the blossoming park, between St. Alžbeta Cathedral and the Opera House, with cafes and shops around the perimeter. The fountain does not work in winter, but in another period pleases the residents and visitors of the city. This is a wonderful and cozy place to relax with music.
The Opera House is one of the largest buildings in Slovakia. Built in 1899 in neo-baroque style. The theater hosts dramatic and comedic productions, performances, ballets and operas. Ticket price from 5 to 25 euros (depending on location)
The Zoo in Kosice is one of the largest in Europe. The zoo is located in the part of the city - Kavecany. Today, 142 species of diverse animals from around the world are represented here, with the largest brown bear exposure in Central Europe. Hours from 9:00 to 19:00, ticket price from 0,5 to 6 euros
We also recommend visiting Dino Park, which is very interesting and recommended for visits with children. If you wish, you can go for a 3D movie with the participation of dinosaurs.
Time to visit the zoo and dinosaur park is 2-3 hours
You can get there from the central bus station by bus # 29, to the final stop
