Hundreds of thousands of fans of masquerade demonstrations, colorful masked costumes and high-profile festivities gather annually at the Venice Carnival, which is a kaleidoscope of vibrant events in Venice. As everyone can participate in the carnival, they prepare for the trip in advance. Local stores offer many options for carnival outfits, and there are also rental points for holiday wear and masks, ie rentals. However, many travelers bring luxurious suits with them.

During the Carnival, the streets of one of the most romantic cities on the planet are filled with leisurely strollers and city residents and visitors in fanciful outfits. Venice is turning into a fairy tale reproduced in real life. Selected audiences meet every step of the way, flashing camera flashes of enthusiastic tourists hurrying to take a photo.
Carnival dates are directly linked to the Catholic Lent, so they vary from year to year. The first day is always Saturday before Mass Thursday, and the last one is Tuesday. The 2020 Carnival in Venice will begin on February 8 and run until March 25. The opening ceremony will take place, as always, in Cannaregio, the historic district of Venice. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM. On the morning of the next day at 11:00 local time the water festival will begin. The Grand Canal will be decorated with gondolas and boats. They will start their route from Punta della Doan and sail to Rio di Cannaregio.

- competitions for the best mask, costume, headdress to be held in San Marco;
- Piazza Ferretto Street Festival in Mestre;
- Carnival on the island of Burano in the last five days of celebration;
- parade of carnival carts in Marguerite;
- Youth Carnival in Zelarino, will be held on the last day of the carnival.
Carnival will not be limited to street public events, costume balls, theatrical parties, holiday dinners, etc. will be organized in the old palaces.
