The carnival itself was born in 1873, as a masquerade not satisfied with the excessively high taxes of wealthy citizens and in recent years its main distinguishing feature has become large mobile allegorical wagons - platforms. These holidays date back to the so-called “veglioni di colore” of the 1920s, when women were to be dressed in dresses of certain colors, while men remained in tuxedos; decorations, candy, and streamers of serpentine also had to match a certain color code.
